Annual event set for 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 at CHS

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce is hoping to bring smiles to its members' faces in February when it welcomes Kent Rader to perform at the annual banquet.

Rader, known as the world's cleanest comedian and humorous keynote speaker, has been selected as the special entertainment at the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. in the commons area at Cassville High School.

Rader helps organizations learn and experience how laughter matters as an effective business tool. He believes passionately that laughter matters in easing the daily stress of employees and helps build a highly cohesive business team.

In addition to special entertainment, the event will honor both individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the Cassville community. The Chamber board plans to award Business Beautification awards, as well as recognizing outgoing and incoming Chamber board members.

"I am excited to work with the Chamber Board of Directors," said Jeff Swadley, incoming Chamber president. "We have a great group of individuals that care deeply about our community. We plan to continue our time-honored traditions while consistently looking for ways to increase economic growth and support for our local businesses."

Attendees will enjoy a dinner catered by John Sullivan and Cassville Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club, and décor will be provided by Accents-n-Tents.

"The annual banquet gives our Chamber the opportunity to show gratitude toward businesses and groups, which by their achievements, have improved Cassville," said Wade Hermansen, outgoing president. "This banquet is made up of entertainment, good food and appreciation for our business community. Come on and have a ball."

Advanced tickets are available for $20 per person at the Chamber office, located at 504 Main St. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the night of the event for $25.

A drawing will be held for centerpieces donated by local businesses. All those that purchase a ticket will be entered into the drawing. Limit one door-prize per household.

Businesses interested in donating a centerpiece should contact the Chamber, or for more information on the event, contact Director Brittany Farris at 417-847-2814 or
