Dorris Elaine Rose

Dorris Elaine Rose, 89, of Seligman, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, in Cassville Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1927, in Washburn, the daughter of John Edward and Bertha May (Dorris) Watson. On May 5, 1945, in Cassville she was united in marriage to Denver Rose who preceded her in death on March 14, 2016. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Larry F. Rose; three brothers, Paul, Gay and Harve Watson; and three sisters, Myrtle Daniels, Audrey Stewart and Faye Stewart.

Survivors include: one son, Garry Rose of Washburn; one daughter, Annette Henderson and her husband, Charles, of Seligman; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education at Washburn, where she graduated from high school on May 4, 1945. She and Denver lived in Cassville for many years, and in 2004 they moved to Seligman to make their home. She was a Sunday school teacher at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville and a homemaker.

Graveside services were held Friday at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Bob Scott conducted the services.
