Martha Jones, 76, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, in Springfield.
She was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Star City, Ark., the daughter of James Henry and Zuma (Beeson) Nix. On Dec. 31, 1985, she was united in marriage to William F. "Bill" Jones, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Karen Kelley of Branson West, and Frankie Holiman of Springfield; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Wendell "Sonny" Dickson; one sister, Dorothy Crabtree, and one brother, James Elwin Nix.
She graduated from high school in Star City, Ark.. She received her nursing degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Hot Springs, Ark. Prior to moving to Shell Knob, she had resided in Eureka Springs, Ark. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Knob.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Brian Chisamore conducted the services. Burial was at Leek-Drake Cemetery in Star City, Ark.
