Darrell Gautney, 68, of Seligman, passed away in his home on Dec. 10, 2016. He was born on June 18, 1948, in Seligman, son of Doyle and Doris (Amos) Gautney. On Aug. 21, 1999, he was united in marriage to Ilene Pendergraft. He was a Vietnam veteran. He raised turkeys for 17 years, and also retired after 10 years of service from Glad Manufacturing Co. in Rogers, Ark. He was a member of the Church of God in Seligman and attended the Victory Baptist Church in Cassville.
Survivors include: his wife, Ilene Gautney, of the home; his mother, Doris Gautney, of Cassville; six sons, Chuck Gautney and his wife Angie, of Seligman, Brandon Gautney and his wife Crystal, of Seligman, Jerry Tate and his wife Kasey, of Wheaton, Gary Tate, of Springfield, Luke Rhea and his wife Shirley, of Kaw City, Oklahoma, and Jim Rhea and his wife Susan, of Braman, Oklahoma; two daughters, Sheri Roy and her husband Doug, of Stockton, and Shawna Ellis and her husband Joe, of Carthage; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Darla Sue Pippin, of Cassville; and the mothers of his children, Vickie Quick of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Kay Skelton of Seligman.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one grandson, and two brothers, Dale and Dennis Gautney.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the White Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville, with Pastor Russell Bishop officiating. Burial followed with full military honors provided by the Juliet Team of Joplin and the V.F.W. Post # 4207 of Monett at Sparks Cemetery east of Butterfield.
