Edward F. "Ed" Dutra
Edward F. "Ed" Dutra, Sr., 83, of Monett, formerly of Wheaton, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.
He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in San Mateo, Calif., the son of John and Mamie (Brown) Dutra. On Oct. 14, 1955, he was united in marriage to Louise Celestres who preceded him in death on July 16, 2016. Also preceding him in death were his parents; a great-grandson; and one brother, Eugene Dutra.
Survivors include: two sons, Edward F. Dutra, Jr. and his wife Faith of Sand Springs, Okla., and Ronald Dutra and his wife Charlotte of Bella Vista, Ark.; two daughters, Lori Dutra and Lisa of Aurora, and Lisa Newman and her husband David of Exeter; two brothers, Leonard Dutra and Johnny Dutra both of San Mateo, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He grew up and received his education in California and attended Foothill College in Palo Alto, Calif. From July 25, 1955, until April 17, 1959, he served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1971, he moved to Southwest Missouri in the Wheaton area, remaining there until three years ago when he moved to Monett.
Services were held Thursday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Donnie Spears conducted the services.
