Purdy High School to crown holiday royalty on Friday
Members of court to appear in Christmas parades
Purdy High School will cap its holiday celebration with the crowning of royalty on Friday Dec. 16.
The 2016 Mister and Miss Merry Christmas will be named in a special ceremony at 6 p.m. on Dec. 16 in the high school gym, prior to the beginning of the evening's basketball games, Candidates will be presented to the student body for voting at a special assembly at 2:15 p.m. that afternoon.
In accordance to the tradition at Purdy, a boy and girl from each high school class are named for consideration.
All of the candidates, along with the newly crowned 2016 Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas, will ride in Purdy's inaugural Christmas Parade, sponsored by Ken and Julie Terry of the Gathering Place, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Freshman candidates Elizabeth Hoffman and Andrew Martinez represented Purdy in Monett's parade on Saturday.
