Shell Knob man injured in Joplin wreck
Medical incident leads to crash south of city
A Shell Knob man was injured in a wreck on Monday at 2:10 p.m on Gum Road, four miles south of Joplin.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Bobby Briley, 71, of Shell Knob, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche westbound when he suffered a medical episode, causing his vehicle to run off the right side of the roadway and strike a fence and a ditch.
Briley suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle suffered extensive damage.
