Pair arrested for alleged burglary, assault

Two people have been arrested for an alleged assault at a home on Highway 112 on Nov. 16.
Laura Talbert, 37, and Richard Randolph, 24, both of Cassville, are facing multiple felony charges. Talbert is charged with second-degree assault, first-degree burglary and resisting arrest. Randolph is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree burglary. Both are also charged with misdemeanor property damage.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Deputy Taylor Lombard, with the Barry County Sheriff's Office, Talbert and Randolph allegedly broke into the victims' apartment on Highway 112 at about 11:20 p.m. and were inside the residence when the victims returned home. According to the report, Talbert and Randolph struck the victim in the head multiple times with baseball bats.
Talbert later allegedly resisted arrest by a sheriff's deputy and pepper spray was used on her to gain compliance.
The property damage allegedly took place when the pair broke a 3-foot-by-5-foot window, with a replacement valued at $40.
Talbert and Randolph are each being held on $30,000 bonds. Both have been arraigned, and disposition hearings for each are scheduled for Dec. 6 at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
