Golden man dies in Hwy. 86 wreck
Vehicle overturns after running off roadway
A Golden man died on Wednesday in a wreck at 11:40 p.m. on Highway 86, east of Route P and half a mile east of Eagle Rock.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Matthew Blevins, 21, of Golden, was driving a 1983 GMC Sierra westbound when his vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned, causing him to be ejected.
Blevins was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. Thursday by Barry County Deputy Coroner Charles Fohn.
A passenger in the vehicle, Zachery Johnson, 24, of Omaha, Ark., suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Neither were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.
This is the seventh fatality in November and 103rd of the Year for Troop D of the patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
