Eagle Rock resident facing pair of possession charges

An Eagle Rock man was arrested on Oct. 25 following a wreck in Cassville, as he allegedly hid drugs in a pole near the Conoco parking lot.

Jamie McCarty, 29, of Eagle Rock, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

According to a probable cause report filed by Colt Beck, with the Cassville Police Department, while assisting in working a wreck in town, he was informed the passenger of one of the vehicles placed something inside a pole located on Conoco's parking lot, then returned to the vehicle and his child in the car.

Beck said he retrieved a coat hanger from Det. Danny Boyd's patrol unit, manuvered it and pushed out a black container from the bottom of the pole's pipe.

Inside the container, he allegedly found 12 green, rectangular pills and four blue, round pills, later identified as Alprazolam and Clonazepam.

MaCarty is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $20,000. He has been arraigned and a disposition hearing was held Monday.
