Billy Wayne Hill
Billy Wayne Hill, 71, of Cassville, Missouri passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, after a brief illness.
He was born on July 10, 1945, in Bethany, the son of John L. and Hazel L. (Richard) Hill. On July 11, 1964 he was united in marriage to Liesel Lea Barnett, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Douglas Hill, of Henderson, Nev.; three daughters, Karen Brawner and her husband, Donnie, of Springfield, Kathy Stockton and her husband, Ron, of Jenkins, and Tracie Watts, of Portland, Oregon; one brother, Darrell Hill and his wife, Paula, of Hollister; two sisters, Nelda Lies, of Branson, and Brenda Adkins, of Bentonville, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
He graduated from South High School in Wichita, Kan. He moved to Cassville from Wichita in 1979, where he owned and operated a furniture store on the square. Through the years, he was also employed as a police officer for the City of Cassville, worked at Wells Aluminum, and owned a lumber yard. He also worked as an independent contractor, and in 2009, he earned his real estate license, and was employed as a realtor with Four Seasons Realty up until the time of his death. He spent time on the Cassville City Council and temporarily served as Cassville Mayor. He was a member of Cassville First Baptist Church, and enjoyed participating in the Cassville Cruisers Car Club.
Services will be held at Cassville First Baptist Church today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor James Weaver will conduct the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
