Man found dead in Cassville
Foul play ruled out, cause of death under investigation
A Wheaton man was found dead Friday morning at about 8:50 a.m., laying on the large rocks in a small lot on the west end of Sale Barn Road.
According to Det. Danny Boyd, with the Cassville Police Department, Robert Lewis Crotwell, 45, of Wheaton was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Jim Fohn at 9:30 a.m.
Boyd said foul play has been ruled out in the case, and the cause of death is undetermined, still under investigation.
Crotwell was released from the Barry County jail at midnight on Friday. He was being held on a six-hour detox and was being cited for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.
According to staff at the jail, he was involved in a non-injury wreck near Exeter on Highway 76, west of Farm Road 1067.
