Purdy earns state championship golf berth
Lady Eagles take 2nd at sectional round
The Purdy golf team punched its ticket to the Class 1 state tournament with a second-place showing at the sectional tournament on Monday in Marshfield.
The Lady Eagles recorded a 379 on the Par 70 course and finished eight stokes behind first place Greenwood (371) and three strokes better than Logan-Rogersville (382).
Zoe Brown finished second overall with a nine-over-par 79. Brown shot a 38 on the first nine and 41 on the back nine.
Shelby Haskins was 19 over par (46-43) and finished eighth. Morgan Grissom was 23rd with a 100 (52-48); McKenzie Renkoski was 38th with a 111 (60-51); and Betty Berry shot a 126 (65-61) and finished 46th.
The Class 1 state championship will be held at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield on Monday and Tuesday.
