Ronald Wayne Harris
Ronald Wayne Harris, 68, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. He was born on July 27, 1948, in Sweet Home, Oreg., son of Raymond and Pauline (Sherman) Harris. He was a 1967 graduate of Cassville High School, and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Vietnam War On Oct. 25, 1969, he was united in marriage to Judith Lee in Peculiar. He was a Barry County Deputy Officer before becoming a Cassville City Police Office where he served from 1984 to 1993. He had recently been employed at the Cassville Public Works Department working as a technician from 1993 until his retirement in 2009. He served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Exeter, and was member and served a deacon at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Judy Harris, of Cassville; his son, Jeremy Harris and his wife Beth, of Wheaton; his daughter, Amy Garner and her husband Ashley, of Cassville; his parents, Raymond and Pauline Harris, of Belton; three grandchildren; two sisters, Janell Harris and her husband Hubert, and JaNeanne Huffman and her husband Jim, all of Belton.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father in-law and mother in-law, Dayne and Betty Lee.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Donnie Spears officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
