The recent opening reception of 'postcards from around the world' art exhibit was a hit and enjoyed by visitors and Creative Arts of Shell Knob (CASK) members alike. Artists from all over the world sent a host of unique 'weather-themed' postcards for the exhibit.

The exhibit, along with postcard art from CASK's 2013 show on the theme of music, will be displayed in the special events room at CASK during the month of August. The public is invited to stop by and peruse this special form of 'mini-art.'

Artisans interested in exchanging art with others are invited to join an organization called the International Union of Mail Artists (IUOMA). Groups requesting art for a show should post their themes online along with size specifications, date due, and other guidelines, and interested artists should submit their artwork.

As for recent CASK events, Dixie Meyer led an evening Paint 'N Pour class last month. Her courtyard scene gave viewers the opportunity to follow and add what they saw in their paintings.

Jo Daniels and Marcia Nicholls directed a concrete art workshop on two Friday mornings this month. For more information on that event, Daniels may be reached at 417-858-0423.

With a hot and humid, but fun, summer season wrapping up, CASK hopes everyone thoroughly enjoyed theirs both at home and while traveling, and staff look forward to the next and cooler season of fall and the new and creative artistic opportunities it will bring.
