Ruth Lydia (Smith) Cooper, 68, of Wheaton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, in Lacoba Homes.
She was born July 27, 1948, in Rochester, N.H., the daughter of Arthur and Mary Smith. On May 27, 1978, she was united in marriage to Bill Cooper, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Elizabeth Gomez, of Cassville, and Mary Shipman and her husband, Chris, of Sedalia; three brothers, Art Smith, of Wichita, Kan., Gary Smith of Burleson, Texas, and Bruce Smith, of Harrison, Ark.; and six grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents.
She received her education at Walker School, Schell City, where she graduated from high school. She was a homemaker and was a charter member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
