3 injured in Hwy. W wreck

Vehicle hits fence, embankment on Monday

Three people were injured Monday in a wreck at 5:45 p.m. on Highway W, three miles southwest of Wheaton.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Joanna Bell, 28, of Wheaton, was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 northbound when her vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a fence and an embankment.

Bell, along with three passengers, Cody Ellington, 26, of Wheaton, and Megan Holley, 25, of Wheaton, each suffered moderate injuries. All three were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

None were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.
