CASK continues unique, creative activities
In the middle of summer, vacations and picnics, CASK members, Creative Arts of Shell Knob, reports it is staying busy learning new things and sharing ideas. This summer, the group has had several Paint 'N Pours, workshops and shows in its special events room, and visitors are coming to the gallery. Paint 'N Pour events have included not just members, but grandchildren, children, and friends making special memories together.
This week's Paint 'N Pour, led by Jim Hoover, showed members how to paint a log cabin. One painter's nephew joined in the adventure. You can view their artwork in the attached photo.
Another Paint 'N Pour is lined up for Wednesday, Aug. 17, and Thursday, Sept. 15t. Call Dixie Meyer at 417-858-2261 for the August session, or Jo Daniels at 417-858-0423 for the September date. Both sessions run from 6-9 p.m.
Members and visitors still have one more week to stop by and view Jim Hoover's solo show in the special event room, and when they do, will be glad they took time to come in. The next special event will be a post card art show of 'Yes, post cards depicting weather,' and sent from all over the world. We now have enough wall space to add many cards from the previous show of 'Music.' Please plan to stop by in August to see these wonderful miniature works of art.
On Aug. 12 and 19, from 10 a.m. to noon, Marcia Nicholls and Jo Daniels will teach a Concrete Art workshop. There have been many requests for a repeat of this class, so be sure to let Daniels know you want to be included to have the supplies necessary. Reservations can be made by calling call her at 417-858-0423.
