64-year-old's Harley runs off roadway, hits tree

An Eagle Rock man was injured and arrested after a wreck on Thursday at 9:10 p.m. on Route J in Golden.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, George Gardner, 64, of Eagle Rock, was riding a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound when his bike ran off the roadway, ejected the driver and struck a tree.

Gardner suffered serious injuries and was transported to Arkansas Regional Hospital in Rogers, Ark.

He was wearing a safety device, and the motorcycle suffered moderate damage.

At 9:40 p.m., Gardner was arrested on charges of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, resulting in a crash.
