Cora "Helen" Barlow
Cora "Helen" Barlow, 94, of Purdy, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, in Lacoba Homes, Monett.
She was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Kingsmill, Texas, the daughter of John Franklin and Cora Ingenton (Potter) Johnson. On Aug. 19, 1938, she was united in marriage to Chester Lee Barlow, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter, three grandsons, two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include: one son, Chester Barlow Jr., of Butterfield; one daughter, LaVerne Key and her husband, Kenneth, of Purdy; two sisters, Lela Nevins, of Tulia, Texas, and Billy Mays, of Haskell, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; 44 great-great grandchildren; and three great-great-great grandchildren.
She received her education in Texas and then received her GED at Monett in 1981. For several years, she was employed as an assembler at a sewing factory.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. today (Wednesday) July 27, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Nathan Thomas will conduct the services.
