Carl "Nig" Porter
Carl "Nig" Porter, 78, of Washburn, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in his home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1937, in Cassville, the son of Sam and Bea (Johnson) Porter. On Nov. 23, 1964, he was united in marriage to Patsy Browning, who preceded him. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Ray and James C. Porter.
Survivors include: two sons, Jeff Porter and his wife, Wendy, of Seligman, and Joey Williams and his wife, Christy, of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Jack Porter and his wife, Carole, of Denver, Colo., and Charles Porter and his wife, Kaye, of Exeter; five sisters, Chloe Weathers, of Cassville, Dorothy Webb, of Wichita, Kan., Marilyn Lawrence, of Seligman, Margaret Rose, of Cassville, and Vicki Holland, of Rogers, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
He received his education at Pasley School. He served in the U.S. Army. For several years, he was employed at Roaring River State Park. Graveside services were held Saturday in Corinth Cemetery, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
