Men charged for assaulting teens
Alleged attack happened Friday on Mill Street
Two men have been charged with felonies after an alleged attack on a pair of teenagers walking down Mill Street in Cassville on Friday.
David Corral, 26, of Wheaton, and Joshua Jacobs, 23, of Cassville, are each charged with two counts of abuse of a child, and one count of stealing.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Bill Watkins, deputy with the Barry County Sheriff's Office, Corral was driving when he saw the 15-year-old victim walking down Mill Street, just off 11th Street.
Corral, along with Jacobs, allegedly exited the vehicle and began assaulting the teen with kicks in the face and torso. A 16-year-old came to help, and Corral and Jacobs allegedly assaulted that child as well, grabbing the 16-year-old's hoodie, then punching and kneeing the victim in the face.
The victim slipped out of the hoodie, and Corral and Jacobs allegedly took the Mizzou-themed clothing item and left in their vehicle.
Watkins said when Corral was stopped by law enforcement, the hoodie was located in the back seat of the vehicle.
Corral and Jacobs are both being held in the Barry County jail, each with cash-only bonds of $15,000. Court dates have yet to be determined.
