Billie Ann Stephens
Billie Ann Stephens passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident since October 2015.
She was born May 22, 1933 in Seminole, Oklahoma the daughter of William "Bill" and Grace (Brock) Ledgerwood. On Aug. 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to James "Spiz" Stephens, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jim Stephens and his wife Sarah of Cassville; one daughter, Jil Hunt and her husband Brian of Olathe, Kansas; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Norma Lee "Corky" Ledgerwood, Linda McCormick and Martha Watt.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Phil and Gene Ledgerwood; one sister, Geneva Clayton and daughter-in-law, Debbie Stephens.
She was a 1951 graduate of Cassville High School. In 1964, she began working at Jumping Jack Shoes when they opened and retired from Justin Boots on Feb. 1, 1993. She was a long time bowler in the women's league and enjoyed cross country motorcycle trips with her husband. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis and Springfield Cardinals and was a season ticket holder for the Springfield team. She was a lifelong member of Mill Street Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Ken West conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
