Man arrested after golf cart wreck near Arrow Point
3 minors injured when golf cart overturned Monday
A Florida man was arrested Monday afternoon following a golf cart wreck at 1:10 p.m. that injured three minors on Farm Road 2265, one mile east of Arrow Point in Golden.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Thomas Firestone, 39, of Titusville, Fla., was driving a golf cart westbound when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting all occupants.
Two passengers in the golf cart, Olivia Firestone, 10, and Amani Firestone, 12, suffered minor injuries. Another passenger, Phobee, Virtue, 13, suffered moderate injuries. All three were transported to Cox Hospital in Branson. Thomas Firestone was not injured.
Firestone was arrested at 1:35 p.m. by the Highway Patrol. He is charged with driving while intoxicated; three counts of felony second-degree assault, for operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury; three counts of endangering the welfare of a child; and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
Firestone is being held in the Barry County jail on a $15,000 bond, and he is scheduled to be arraigned today at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
