Fundraiser to help students get to Utah
Four Cassville High School speech and debate team members, Marisa Padilla, Jake Whitham, Madison Horner and Olivia Padilla, are headed to the national tournament in Utah this summer. To help offset expenses, they are hosting a painting night on Monday in the Cassville High School art room. This event will be instructed by the art teacher, Ms. Williams. Attendees will paint a spring-themed painting on a 16-by-20 canvas. Cost is $25 per person and will include refreshments. A silent auction will also be available. American Cancer Society hosting event Friday
The American Cancer Society Festival of Barry County Survivor Dinner will be held Friday at the First United Methodist Church, located at 1600 N. Central in Monett. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. The dinner is for a survivor and one guest. Additional guests are welcome to attend but are asked to make a minimum $5 donation to the American Cancer Society Festival of Barry County.
Cemetery hosting annual meeting, picnic
The Seligman New Salem Cemetery Association will meet on May 28 at 11 a.m. at the New Salem Church House, located about 1.5 miles northeast of Seligman. A potluck lunch will be held on the grounds at noon, following the business meeting. Cassville Alumni Association banquet slated
On May 28, the Cassville Alumni Association will host its annual banquet at Cassville High School. There will be entertainment, food and a quick program. The business portion of the annual event will include presentation of scholarship awards, election of officers and recognition of classes with special attention to class reunions. Registration will open at 4:30 p.m., with the banquet starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $12 per person which includes dinner, alumni dues and contribution to the Alumni Scholarship Fund.
