Eagle Rock area producers, artists come out for market

Wednesday, April 27, 2016
Producer Roe Strickland visits with customers at the Eagle Rock Farmers' Market Tuesday morning. Strickland was selling tomato and cucumber plants, and he will also have blackberries available for picking later in the season at $15 per-gallon. His tomato plants were grown, from seed, since February, with a special compost mix he uses. The mixture consists of about 60 percent horse manure, 15-20 percent chicken litter, and a mix of Perlite, coffee grounds and leaf mulch. Artist Dave Gilday, of Rustic Designs By Dave, was also on hand with his hand-made cedar creations. The market is held Tuesday mornings from 8-11 a.m. at the Eagle Rock Community Center on Highway 86. Julia Kilmer reporter@cassville-democrat.com
