Senior Center hosting Mother's Day Lunch

The Cassville Senior Center will host a Mother's Day Lunch on May 6 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The meal requires a contribution of $3.50 for those over 60, and $6 for anyone else. For more information, people may contact the center at 471-847-4510.

Cassville Prescription Take Back Day scheduled

The Cassville Police Department is again participating in the D.E.A. Prescription Take Back Day. This will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The address to drop off the medication is 300 Main, at Cassville City Hall/Cassville Police Department. The entrance will be in the back of the building, using the Council Chamber door. The Prescription Take Back Day is to help people to properly dispose of unused medications. Proper disposal of medication helps to protect the environment and keeps the medicine from being flushed into our water systems. This also helps keep the medication out of the hands of people who do not have a prescription or need for the medication, but want to use it for recreational use only. Over-the-counter medications are also accepted. Inhalers, illegal drugs or sharp objects (like syringes) will not be accepted. No medications can be accepted from medical clinics, pharmacies or veterinary clinics.

Cassville Alumni Association banquet set for May 28

On May 28, the Cassville Alumni Association will host its annual banquet at Cassville High School. There will be entertainment, food and a quick program. The business portion of the annual event will include presentation of scholarship awards, election of officers and recognition of classes with special attention to class reunions. Registration will open at 4:30 p.m., with the banquet starting at 6 p.m. Any classes hosting reunions may contact Jill LeCompte at 417-847-2221 or 417-826-5339 to reserve tables.

Exeter schedules city-wide yard sale, cleanup day

The city of Exeter will host its annual city-wide yard sale on May 7. anyone wishing to participate may stop by City Hall or call 417-835-2823. There is no charge to participate, and a list of addresses participating will be available at City Hall. The city's annual cleanup day will be on May 10. Those with appliances needing picked up should call City Hall to make arrangements.

Chamber looking for Golf Tournament sponsors

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce is looking to shore up the sponsorship list for its 9th Annual Chamber Golf Tournament, which will be held on May 20. Sponsorships are $100 and sponsors will receive signage on the course and advertising through all media listings. For more information, people may call Brittany Farris at 417-847-2814.

Seligman spring train ride coming soon

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for its Spring Train Ride to Van Buren, Ark., on May 14 and 15. The train will travel though the Boston mountains, then stop so people may shop in old Van Buren, and at the Arts and Crafts show. Music in the street, and food, will be available. The train will leave Seligman City Hall at about 7:15 a.m. and return at about 6:45 p.m. People will be in Van Buren for about three hours.
