Nathan Frank "Nate" Frolkey
Nathan Frank "Nate" Frolkey, 92, of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Lacoba Homes, Monett.
He was born on April 30, 1923, in Brooks County, Ga., the son of Reginald "Rex" and Clara (Erickson) Frolkey. On July 30, 1944, he was united in marriage to Norma Mae (Herzig) who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and two grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael Frolkey and his wife LaDonna of Lawton, Iowa and Keith Frolkey and his wife Linda of Lecanto, Fla.; three daughters, Carol Frolkey and her husband, Michael Frey, of Boca Raton, Fla., Natalie Drahzal and her husband, John, of East Berne, N.Y. and Wanda Miller and her husband, Tim, of Kalona, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He received his education in Le Mars, Iowa, He taught school for 39 years, In 1972, he and Norma moved to Shell Knob and he taught at Eureka Springs, Ark., and then on to Flippin, Ark., where he retired 14 years later. He served several years in the Shell Knob Lions Club. He was one of the founders of Central Community United Methodist Church and later the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob where he attended until his death. Memorial services were held Monday in Trinity Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jerry Arnold officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
