Locals gather to learn about Master Gardener program

Wednesday, April 6, 2016
Reagan Bluel, Barry County dairy specialist program director, shares a presentation with residents at a meeting March 31 at the Cassville Branch Library to discuss a course on becoming a master gardener, which will be offered over the next 10 weeks. Master gardeners help with many community beautification and education projects in the community and are known for their knowledge concerning plants, gardening and horticulture. About 16 people attended the meeting, generating enough interest to start a new group of Barry County Master Gardeners. Bluel said she wants more people to know about master gardeners, and all the services and educational information on a wide variety of subjects that the University of Missouri Extension office and website offers to residents. For more information, people may visit http://extension.missouri.edu/main/programs.aspx, or visit the local office on the second floor of the courthouse. Julia Kilmer reporter@cassville-democrat.com
