Dean LaVerne Proctor, 91, of Neosho, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville.

He was born June 15, 1924, in Sidney, Iowa, the son of Riley and Edna (Moore) Proctor. On Oct. 5, 1974, he was united in marriage to Celia Robbins, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three daughters, Dena Loftin, of Grinnell, Iowa, Gail Isham, of Bellevue, Neb., and Kathy Cynova and her husband, Ray, of Pottsville, Ark.; one son, Ken Nading, of Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Denise Nading, of Anchorage, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Darlene; two sons, Melvin Nading and Bill Nading; one grandson; a son-in-law, Mike Loftin; one brother, John Proctor and one sister, Mary Hickey.

He grew up and received his education in Iowa. For 37 years, he was employed for GTE/Verizon in Grinnell, Iowa, and Columbus, Neb., retiring as Vehicle Maintenance Director. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Methodist Church and VFW in Rogers, Ark., and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Burial will be held at a later date in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
