Kay Helen Meier, 80, of Shell Knob, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

She was born March 18, 1936, in Hume, the daughter of Ira Lee and Francis Elizabeth (Northcutt) Kennedy. On Dec. 29, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles Arthur "Charlie" Meier, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Gary Meier and his wife, Dee Dee, of Lee's Summit; one daughter, Susan Judy and her husband, Dan, of Neosho; one brother, Lee Kennedy and his wife, Vera, of Lawrence, Kan.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Daniel Meier and one brother, Tom Kennedy.

She grew up and received her education in Spring Hill, Kan. where she graduated from high school. In 1989, she and Charlie moved from Lee's Summit to Shell Knob to make their home. She was an active member of Central Community United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in Central Community United Methodist Church under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Bill Kenagy will conduct the services. Burial will be in Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
