Silverio S. Benavidez, 66, of Rocky Comfort, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, in Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

He was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Flagstaff, Ariz., the son of Steven and Ernestine (Meastas) Benavidez. On Aug. 18, 2000, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Kimberly Sumner, who survives.

Additional survivors include: his mother, Ernestine Benavidez, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Paul Benavidez and his wife, Tammie, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Ashlea Benedict, of Purdy, and Donna Zelada and her husband, Antonio, of Las Vegas, Nev.; five brothers, Gabriel Benavidez and his wife, Rosa, of Phoenix, Ariz., Paul, of Phoenix, Ariz., Joe Benavidez of Tucson, Arizona, Frank Benavidez and his wife, Teresa, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dennis Benavidez, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Priscilla Kubas and Christine Benavidez, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He grew up and received his education in Flagstaff, Ariz., where he graduated from high school. For several years, he was employed at Vons Grocery Store in Las Vegas, Nev. Memorial services were held Thursday in Ridgley Baptist Church. Pastor Tony Ball conducted the services.

Cremation arrangements were under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
