Cassville Democrat publisher earns national honor
Brower named to Editor & Publisher magazine's '25 Under 35'
Jacob Brower, publisher of the Cassville Democrat, has been named to Editor & Publisher magazine's annual "25 Under 35" list.
Brower, 35, has been the Democrat's publisher since 2013. The annual list recognizes 25 top professionals age 35 and younger representing various disciplines at newspapers across the country.
Editor & Publisher is the nation's leading journal covering the newspaper industry.
Before coming to Barry County, Brower was editor of The Daily Citizen in Searcy, Ark., for four years. His career began as a staff writer and photographer for the Neosho Post in 2000. He also worked for the Joplin Globe, the Miami (Okla.) News-Record, the Carthage Press and The Morning Sun (Pittsburg, Kan.) early in his career.
An Anderson native, Brower is a McDonald County High School graduate. He earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Missouri Southern State University, and earned associate's degrees in journalism and public relations from Crowder College.
"I am fortunate to work with a great team in a great community, and am blessed to have people who have mentored and encouraged me throughout my career," Brower said.
Brower also serves as publisher of Connection Magazine and The Monett Times.
