MSHSAA to conduct site reviews of Mizzou, Missouri State
The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) received six responses in its search for a host for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 state football championships.
According to Media Director Jason West, the board hopes to select the site this week and present the information as soon as possible.
West said MSHSAA received two submissions, one from the city of Cameron and one from Chilicothe, to host just the 8-man championships. The city of Branson additionally has proposed to host either a Class 1 or Class 2 title game at Branson High School.
Missouri State University in Springfield proposed to host all 11-man championships, and representatives from the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis submitted bids to host all seven championship events. The University of Missouri in Columbia submitted a proposal to just host the 2017-2018 championships.
MSHSAA officials are slated to tour the Missouri State facilities on Monday and Mizzou on Wednesday.
