Humphrey joins Purdy school board

Purdy resident Tammy Humphrey, right, accepted an appointment to join the Purdy Board of Education, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of 11-year board member Mike Bennett.

Mike Bennett, who served 11 years as a member of the Purdy Board of Education, resigned in February due to increasing demands at his business. In recognition of his years of service to the school board, Randy Henderson, left, board chairman, presented Bennett with a plaque, expressing the board's appreciation for Bennett's service. Bennett will continue to serve as chairman of the Purdy Fire District board and the Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District board. Murray Bishoff/Cassville democrat
