Children hear about meaning of Easter

Wednesday, March 30, 2016
Kaden Haynes, 3, son of Kelby and Haley Haynes, of Rocky Comfort, prays for the congregation at Solid Rock Baptist Church, after an entertaining discussion with Pastor Scott Mitchell on the meaning of Easter. Heads bowed and eyes closed as the children listen intently to the prayer. Dressed in their Sunday-best for Easter, the children were asked by Mitchell about the meaning of the holiday, to which one child gave answered, "Jesus got stuck" in the tomb. Each Sunday before the service, Mitchell makes a practice of inviting children to the front of the auditorium to discuss a topic or story from the Bible involving a life lesson, before they attend children's church. Mitchell is holding Kiptyn Johnson, 1, son of Austin and Lacey Johnson of Cassville. Julia Kilmer reporter@cassville-democrat.com
