Father Robert Odom helps his daughter, Nevaeh Odom, of Siloam Springs, Ark., find an egg Saturday morning at an Easter egg hunt at Southwest schools. Even though the morning was chilly, scores of families showed up to participate in the hunt, in which more than 6,000 eggs were scattered and waiting to be found. In its second year, the community event was hosted by local resident and entertainer Clifton Wells, who extended his gratitude to Southwest schools for allowing him to use their campus for the event, to Mission Baptist Church for filling the eggs with candy, and to Terry Meek, who helped sponsor the event. Wells said he began giving away Easter baskets with fireworks last year to promote the event. Julia Kilmer reporter@cassville-democrat.com
