21-year-old being held in Barry County jail on $20,000 bond

An Exeter man was arrested on March 16 after allegedly stealing medications from a home in Exeter.

Caleb Tate, 21, of Exeter, is charged with second-degree burglary, theft of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

According to a probable cause statement filed by Kevin Phillips, Barry County deputy, on March 15, Tate allegedly forcedly entered a home on Farm Road 1040 in Exeter through a bathroom window.

"Once inside, Caleb forced entry into a locked cabinet and stole approximately 55 acetaminophen and oxycodone pills," Phillips said in the statement.

Tate, whose home address is the same as the address of the home he allegedly burglarized, is being held in the Barry County jail on a $20,000 bond.

He has a disposition hearing scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
