County searching for library trustee candidate

The Barry County Commission is seeking to appoint a library trustee to the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library Board of Trustees from the Southern Part of Barry County. This is to fill the unexpired term for a vacancy created by the resignation of Christine Barnes, whose term expires June 30, 2018. Interested candidates must be residents of Barry County and be able to attend monthly board meetings in Monett and attend various library functions. Paint 'N Pour events upcoming

The Creative Arts Gallery of Shell Knob will host a Paint 'N Pour on April 13. Those who wish to paint should call Fran Crosthwait at 417-858-0219. Dixie Meyer will lead the 6:30 p.m. class with a "Tropical" theme. The May 19 Paint 'N Pour with Jeannette Lowe will feature a Missouri landscapes, and Marcia Nicholls has chosen "Table Rock Lake" for June 16.

Mercy to host Open House for EMS services

After taking over EMS services for the South Barry County Ambulance District on March 9, Mercy is planning to host an EMS Stations Blessing and Open House at 1 p.m. on Monday. The event will be held at the District's ambulance building, located at 73 Smithson Drive in Cassville.

Breakfast and Ballot Issues on tap in Cassville

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will host Breakfast and Ballot Issues on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Cassville United Methodist Church. The breakfast is an educational opportunity for Chamber members regarding the upcoming April election. Attendees will hear from those representing ballot issues. Light breakfast will be served, and donations are requested to offset expenses. Those who plan to attend should RSVP to the Chamber by calling 417-847-2814.

Absentee voting for April election ongoing

Absentee voting for the April 5 General Municipal Election continues through April 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Barry County Clerk's office in Cassville. The last day to request a ballot by mail is March 30. People may send written requests to: Gary Youngblood, Barry County Clerk, 700 Main St. Suite 2, Cassville, MO 65625, or fax to 417-847-5311. Name, physical address, mailing address, date of birth, last four digits of Social Security number, phone number, reason for voting absentee and a signature must be included.
