John S. Cunningham
John S. Cunningham, 84, of Golden, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in his home.
He was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Buchanan County, the son of Elmer and Georgia (Gibson) Cunningham. On April 15, 1955, in Trenton, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Lundy who preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one brother George Cunningham and two sisters, Deloris "Sis" and Florence "Babe."
He attended school at White Oak School in Andrew County. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his service time John and Charlotte made their home in St. Joseph, where he worked for GeeCo's and Vet Labs as a maintenance supervisor. Twenty-two years ago they moved to Golden. Survivors include: one son, Mike Cunningham, of Golden; two brothers, James Cunningham, of St. Joseph, and Walter Cunningham, of Amazonia; two sisters, Wilma Sollars, of St. Joseph, and Leah Carroll, of Lowry City; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday at Blythedale, Community Center, Blythedale. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
