Purdy man injured in wreck

Vehicle overturns south of Butterfield Tuesday

A Purdy man was injured in a wreck on Tuesday at 12:25 a.m. on Farm Road 2140, two miles south of Butterfield.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, James Ray, 24, of Purdy, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound when his vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.

Ray suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

It is unknown if he was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
