Students excel in math competition

The Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics math contest for regional and state competitions was held Feb. 27 in Cassville. Students competed against area schools, including St. Lawrence, Wheaton, Trinity Lutheran and Monett. The contest consisted of four events plus an overall individual score. Fourth-graders Emma Berndt, Kyley Miller, Kayden Fuchs and Ava Lee qualified for the regional competition, held Saturday at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. The Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics math contest for regional and state competitions was held Feb. 27 in Cassville.

On Feb. 27, Cassville sixth-grade students competed in the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics math contest for regional and state competitions. Students competed against area schools, including St. Lawrence, Wheaton, Trinity Lutheran and Monett and included four events. Prior to the qualifying contest, students took a preliminary test and the top eight scorers were able to compete in the qualifying competition. Sixth-grade students Emilee Mann, Elizabeth Ray, Lily Love, Dylan Renkoski and Hallie Fratus will compete at the regional competition, held Saturday at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.
