Pinwheels for Healing challenge completed

Wednesday, March 9, 2016
Students at Exeter Middle School, under the direction on Mrs. Payton, took the Students Rebuild Classrooms Challenge and made 781 pinwheels for Syrian youth. The Bezos Family Foundation donated $2.50 to the International Rescue Committee's Healing Classrooms program for each pinwheel received before March 31. Exeter students were able to contribute $1,952.50 to IRC's Healing Classrooms programs in Lebanon and Iraq. The goal is to train teachers in special techniques that will engage conflict- affected children with social-emotional learning opportunities and create a secure, nurturing learning environment.
