Jerry Lynn Skinner, 69, of Picayune, Miss., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. A memorial service was held today (Wednesday) in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Miss.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1947, in Meridian, Miss., the son of the late Dudley and Lessie Skinner. He graduated from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earning his Master of Divinity, and pastored numerous churches and served as a pastoral counselor in several hospitals. He moved to Missouri and for 15 years worked at the Wheaton High School as a high school guidance counselor. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Alta Woods Baptist Church and Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Monett, Mo.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara; and daughter, Carrie, both of Picayune, Miss.
