Do-or-die playoff games begin Monday in Washburn

On Monday, Southwest High School hosts the Class 2, District 12 girls basketball tournament.

Miller (14-9) earned the No. 1 seed, followed by Purdy (17-5) as the No. 2 seed.

Pierce City (12-12) and Southwest (12-11) were voted the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.

Sarcoxie (13-9); Wheaton, (7-17); McAuley Catholic (10-12) and College Heights (1-22) went in order to seeds No. 5-8.

Miller and College Heights open tourney play on Monday at 4:30 p.m., followed by Southwest and Sarcoxie at 6 p.m.

Purdy and McAuley begin at 7:30 p.m., and Pierce City and Wheaton play the night cap at 9 p.m.

The Miller-College Heights victor and the Southwest-Sarcoxie winner meet in the semifinal round on Feb 24 at 6 p.m., followed by the Purdy-McAuley and Pierce City-Wheaton winners at 7:30 p.m.

The championship is set for Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.
