Dove Haney, left, Cassville YMCA center executive and Rotary Club member, extolls the practical benefits of dictionaries to students in Patty Ewing's third-grade class at the intermediate school Friday. She asked students, "What do you do with a dictionary?" The Rotary Club gave each child in third, fifth and eighth grades a student dictionary to use in school. Jessica Haney, president of the Interactive Club, a branch of Rotary that helps with the clubs projects such as the Rotary Rodeo and Rotary Derby, helped deliver and hand out the dictionaries. Along with the benefits of using a dictionary, Haney also explained how bringing the resource to them was just one of the ways rotary members help the community. Rotary members spent the last two weeks donating dictionaries to students in area schools including Wheaton, Purdy, Exeter and Southwest. Julia Kilmer reporter@cassville-democrat.com
