Robert Brian "Bob" Benton
Robert Brian "Bob" Benton, 65, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, in Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 4, 1950, in Florence, Ariz., to Barney and Only (Murphree) Benton, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Barney G. Benton and one son, Robert "Bobby" Benton, Jr.
Survivors include: his wife of 20 years, Donna M. Benton, of Shell Knob; two sons, Daniel L. "Dan" Benton and his wife, Christine, of Olathe, Kan., and Andrew "Andy" Benton and his wife, Heidi, of El Dorado, Kan.; one stepson, Ryan W. Boyle and his wife, Samantha, of Carthage; two sisters, Roseann Stiles, of North Carolina and Karen Ratliff and her husband, Ron, of Wichita, Kan., and seven grandchildren.
He received his education and graduated from South High in Wichita, Kan., in 1968, and attended Wichita State University. For over 35 years Bob was in banking. From 1984 until 2013, he was president and CEO of Community Bank of Shell Knob. He was past president and director of Missouri Independent Bankers Association. He was currently director emeritus of MIBA. He was a thirty-year Master Mason of Central Crossing Lodge #674. He was a thirty-year member and past trustee of Abou Ben Adhem Temple in Springfield. He was also past Rajah of the Shell Knob Shrine Club. He was also a member of Eagles Lodge #4155.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Ron Jester conducted the services. Burial was at Painter Cemetery, Shell Knob.
