Edna Bell Stockton
Edna Bell Stockton, 78, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
She was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Vineland, Colo., the daughter of Carl Lester and Elsie Marie (Baker) Varner. On April 30, 1955, in Raton, N.M., she was united in marriage to Dewey Landon Stockton, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2014. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Andy and Gene Varner; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include: one son, Steven Stockton and his wife, Eva, Christine "Chrissy" of Savanna, Ill.; two daughters, Connie Savant and her husband, Richard, of Nevada, and Patricia "Pat" Bahler and her husband, Donald, of Platte City; four brothers, Carl Varner, of Garden City, Kan., Bill Varner and his wife, Audrey, of La Junta, Colo., Jim Varner and his wife, Judy, of Garden City, Kan., and Phillip Varner, of Crescent, Okla.; two sisters, Charlene Manwieler and her husband, Bob, of Pueblo, Colo., and Nancy Sechrist and her husband, Mike, of Monte Vista, Colo.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She grew up and received her education in Olney Springs, Colo. After retirement, she and her husband, Dewey, moved to Shell Knob to make their home. She was a member of Shell Knob Church of Christ. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Lonnie Stockton will conduct the services.
