27-year-old suffers minor injuries in crash

A Shell Knob man was injured Wednesday in a wreck in Christian County at 2:57 p.m. on Highway 65, one mile north of Saddlebrook.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Aaron Purvis, 27, of Shell Knob, was driving southbound in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala when his vehicle struck the left rear corner of a 2008 Subaru, being driven by Valerie Ealy, 48, of Merriam Woods. The Subaru then travelled off the roadway and landed on its side.

Purvis suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Ealy suffered moderate injuries, and a passenger in her vehicle, Marilyn Brown, 73, of Merriam Woods, suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital.

Brown and Ealy were wearing safety devices. It is unknown if Purvis was wearing a safety device. The Impala sustained moderate damage, and the Subaru was totaled.
