William "Wesley" Crowe, 91, of Monett, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at the home of his granddaughter in Purdy.

He was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Chelsea, Okla., the son of Delbert Allen and Laura Estella (Griggs) Crowe. On May 22, 1974, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Erma Katherine Starms, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one daughter, Sheryl Busler and her husband, Otto, of Enid, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Sharon Smith and her husband, Duane, of Monett; one stepson, David Ridenour and his wife, Shirley, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; 10 brothers; and two sisters.

He grew up and received his education in Oklahoma. During World War II, he joined the U.S. Army and also served in the Korean War. For several years, he was employed at EFCO. He attended Family Faith Church in Cassville.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
